Horizontal detachable towbar.

The horizontal detachable towball HOOK CZ is removable without the use of tools only by simply pressing the lever and then rotating the towball 90°. The housing and socket plate is visible when the towball is removed. When the towball is removed from the vehicle, it is necessary to close a housing with a plastic cap. The housing is fitten neatly under the rear bumper, so it does not increase the length of the vehicle for parking. Our detachable towball is lockable, which prevents it against theft.

In most cases this system is fully hidden behind the bumper when the towball is removed and the socket plate folded. After the towball is removed from the vehicle, it is necessary to close a housing with a plastic cap. The vertical detachable towball is lockable, which prevents it against theft.

Important guidelines for use of the product:

  • For fitting the towbar fasteners (screws, nuts) with a minimum tensile 8G must be used.
  • After the first 300 km with the trailer, check the towbar attaching to a vehicle, also check the fastening of the towball. We also recommend to check these regulary after every 3000 km with a trailer.
  • Detachable towball must be kept clean and lightly lubricated. When the detachable towball is removed, protect the housing with a plastic cap.
  • When the towbar is used frequently, it’s necessary to check a diameter of the towball ISO 50 – it must not be smaller than 49 mm.

Attaching of a cycle carrier on the towbar:

All towbars from our offer can be used for cycle carriers. Before buying, check the permited vertical load specified for the particular towbar, the weight of bicycles and the cycle carrier. Generally, you can attach a cycle carrier on a removable or fixed towbar, but we recommend the fixed towbar as the best option. If you prefer a detachable towbar, we recommend to choose a vertical detachable towbar which is more resistant to lateral forces. Exceeding of the vertical load can cause a damage of the detachable towball mechanism.
